These game scenes are painted on real
turkey feathers and are available in both verticle and horizontal format. They are available with the same game/wildlife scenes
as on the painted door pulls (by the same artist). The art work is hand painted by an artist in New York. She is extremely
talented and does beautiful work. Look at the photos. on the "Hand Painted Knobs" page to view the game scenes that are available. If you have something particular in mind that
you don't see, email and inquire as to the availability.
We custom frame your piece here in the shop. Most are framed with oak,
in a shadow box type frame. Other wood types are available if you prefer something other than oak. The standard shadow
box frame available in oak only as shown in photos., measures approx. 1 1/2" deep on the outside, and is approx. 1" deep on
the inside. This 1" depth holds the painted feather back away from the glass for the shadow box look. The quills are
normally covered with quail or pheasant feathers which provides a completed look, and compliments the rest of the piece nicely.
They look absolutley spectacular with the double matting, outstanding artwork, and custom framing. What a magnificent,
one of a kind gift!
Currently we offer three sizes, small, medium and large. Sizes will vary slightly due to the size of the feathers and all the hand work involved (cutting
the mattes, hand cutting the wood and framing each piece individually). The sizes listed below are an approx., and should
be used as guidelines.
Both turkey feathers shown with him in full strut. Medium size shown with turkey and small size shown with buck, both with finished oak frames.
Large size shown with barn wood frame having the finished grain exposed on the front and inside, with
the old weathered barn wood on the outside for a beautiful contrast.
